Anders Willumsen, CEO “Everything to someone, not something for everyone.”
As a thriving, innovative learning technology company, Eurekos Systems is changing the narrative of learning management systems (LMS), going beyond the conventional administrative aspects to realise localisation in every sense of the word. From creating, managing, maintaining, to publishing and updating content in a single system, Eurekos uniquely offers a highly integrated and comprehensive learning platform in more than 100 languages to help users customise and create an impactful learning environment that meets their specific needs. But do not mistake it for yet another fit-for-all solution. Customisation is deeply entrenched in Eurekos’ DNA—making it one of the very few companies that provide a perfect fit for professional academies, product training, end-client training, compliance and other scenarios across a variety of industries.
As Anders Willumsen, CEO, Eurekos, explained, “Eurekos has moved way beyond just a standard LMS. We have built a learning ecosystem that has been elaborately created to accommodate both internal and external needs of companies, regardless of the size, industry, and kind of remote learning facilitation and collaboration they require.”
Let’s face it: The traditional way of creating content and then uploading it on an LMS is outdated and ineffective. According to Nick Etlar Eriksen, Co-Founder and CTO, Eurekos Systems, most LMS lack the tools to create and maintain content quickly, easily and effectively. As such, every time a user would need to correct something using an older system, they would need to go back to the person with the Adobe license, who then builds this content. Then, the administrator would load updated content into the LMS. It was a tedious, labour-intensive, inefficient system. “This old process doesn’t reap any benefits, and we knew we could create a more efficient, streamlined way to create and deliver custom content. To begin with, we knew that organisations must change and transform the way they have been offering digital training content, including the way they maintain, create and deliver materials. With speed and user experience taking the centre-stage in today’s high-tech world that demands instant gratification, organisations should be able to roll out updates of their products and services instantly, efficiently, and accurately,” he adds. Eurekos’ ecosystem comprises the best elements from around the world to create customised content without requiring an external tool – or time-consuming extra steps.
At a time when the global corporate training market is predicted to expand exponentially, Eurekos is enabling its clients to reap the benefits of a modern, sophisticated, and user-friendly LMS that boosts the cost-effectiveness and flexibility of e-learning modules. With increased demand in building successful global training programs – especially virtual models –companies are often stalled by the limitations of their existing LMS and struggle to meet the requirements of diverse cultures, locations, and languages. Using older LMS systems, accomplishing the goal of localising product and services is a mighty tall order. The award-winning native authoring tool, Eurekos, solves a plethora of pain-points that have plagued organisations for long.
To begin with, the Eurekos Learning Platform allows users to create and publish content online through any device with any number of authors and SMEs. An unlimited number of knowledgeable SMEs can create content or leverage content right out of the box, with no additional licenses or restrictions on tools. Drawing on more than two decades of experience in IT development and gamification, Willumsen leads his team to create a system that is technologically advanced yet simple to use. On the technical front, the platform comes with numerous integrated tools, including a global video streaming service for free streaming, video conversion, scaling and storage. Besides enabling access permissions for various authors, the platform also helps customise training programs by specific categories, job functions, language, location, and more. As a full-featured course administration system, Eurekos enables the distribution of content both internally and externally —from participants and clients to channels. The platform also tightly integrates with various other applications that organisations use most frequently —O365, Microsoft Teams, Google, YouTube, H5P, Stripe, PayPal, Meet, and Adobe—providing an easy way to manage content and add files when building the training materials.
Eurekos allows editing content directly on the platform with the aid of its integrated tools. Editing and updating content has never been this easy before. With Eurekos, users can leverage simple templates to edit and update their content seamlessly through any device. As Eriksen explains, the platform works like YouTube, where the integrated streaming platform converts files for its users to any of the streaming formats they need. All they need to do is upload their content to the archive. Further, Eurekos brings in the benefits of single-source publishing, which automatically reflects changes or updates in content across different packages when the user makes a change in one file, thus saving significant time and effort.
A “Netflix”-Style Experience to Audience and Administrators alike
With a singular focus on delivering the quintessential user experience, Eurekos follows a ‘Netflix’ approach to deliver an easy-to-navigate user interface, with no user network limitations, just-in-time operations, and co-creating capabilities. Keeping the technical barriers and license challenges at bay, users can straightaway start creating training programs themselves or invite others from across the world to collaborate.

The platform allows users to create an external catalogue displaying sign up options, cost, and other course descriptions through engaging videos. Once a user is logged in as admin, they can access various comprehensive statistics, management, courses overview, explore courses and much more with a modern user interface and super simple filters. Users can access learning analytics and reporting on Eurekos to keep tabs on the progress and compliance for individual participants and cohorts through powerful benchmarking visuals and drive proactive actions based on this data. Views are customised to support functional requirements for each role and allow comparison with averages and time.
Customise to Fit Your Purpose
At the core of Eurekos’ ascension to success lies a much illustrious word: customisation. From the customisation standpoint, Eurekos is built from the ground-up to meet the specific learning needs of every organisation. The platform acts like a LEGO base plate, on which users can add blocks that fit their purpose and specific education training needs. With over 100 languages to choose from for building the training materials, Eurekos ensures that advanced learning can be effectively delivered to any target audience. The highly-optimised interfaces of the platform let users to choose from and design their own processes from diverse delivery features. Users can also avail time zone support and multi-currency options relevant to their location. Besides over 40 customisable interactive learning tools and gamification, Eurekos presents a modular and scalable infrastructure fine-tuned over the years to accommodate any clients’ customisation requirements.
From the security perspective, Eurekos has achieved certification from the international security standard ISO/IEC 27001:2013 and ISO/IEC 27701:2019, making information highly secure and confidential, layered with privacy on top.
While all epic things start with humble steps, the story of Eurekos and its founders is no different. With sheer grit and determination to make the business stand on four pillars, Eurekos is the story of passion, innovation, out-of-the-box thinking and the ability to push boundaries of what’s possible.
It all started in 2010, when Eriksen finally arrived at his big breakthrough moment. Drawing on his decades of experience working with an advertising agency and as a marketing and business support manager, Eriksen laid the cornerstone of a consulting company to aid large-scale projects (worth millions of kroner) in diverse aspects of project management—from risk management to organisational training. As an accredited training organisation, the company also conducted training programs that focused on training managers and their teams, supporting them to prepare, adopt and adjust to change and learn new ways of doing things. However, conducting these training programs was exhausting and utterly taxing for Eriksen and his team. Hours and costs invested in travelling and setting up such programs proved too time-consuming and inefficient. It was time to ‘Do More with Less.’
Eriksen leveraged his rich experience in understanding and transforming business needs to create unique and innovative online experiences targeting specific strategies. The team introduced online training programs and employed video streaming in 2010, which turned out to be highly effective and cost-efficient. This blended learning environment was delivered through a learning management system (LMS)—Eurekos— resulting in saving 70-80 percent of the time spent on classroom training.
The next and biggest challenge was when a company in England wanted their content and materials in Danish, considering that understanding and creating content in other languages was essential to creating successful programs/projects. The team spotted an interesting opportunity in this challenge: create value with localisation of content. “Most companies used Adobe tools to build such a capability and then delivered it to the LMS, which was a purely administrative system and managed content in another system. We intended to change that. We created the content and we created it faster with our platform,” recalls Eriksen.
A university of applied sciences approached the team in 2011. After running a couple of pilot projects focusing on social behaviour, this client sought the assistance of Eriksen and his team to have 1,200 educational programs online in five years, in the wake of the changing education landscape in the Netherlands. “We built a platform where an expert could produce content without having extensivetechnical skills. We wanted to equip them with something that allowed building content in a matter of 10 minutes. Three years later, we had 2,000 educational programs online,” adds Eriksen.
This change management project marked a significant evolution of Eurekos—a platform that enables users to easily and quickly produce powerful localised content to stay ahead of the competition. In doing so, companies must put content first to engage and interact with the target audience and, most importantly, build and publish it dynamically. This is where Eurekos is in a league of its own.
Fast forward to the present day, Eurekos has successfully addressed companies’ three primary challenges considering LMS adoption: limited user experience, lack of customisation regarding localisation, and operational issues. With Eurekos, they have a system that drives their training results much faster and effectively towards a targeted outcome. If you want your global training efforts to achieve the best results, look no further than Eurekos—a platform that can help your organisation create and adapt to your global training needs.
